YAMAHA AND QUARMBY WIN NATIONAL SUPERSPORT CHAMPIONSHIP

After a season fraught with challenges ranging from serious injury to race position penalties, Ronan Quarmby wrapped up the 2010 Interfile National Supersport Championship on board his Interfile/tyre in Transit Yamaha R6 after the first race of the final round of the championship series held at Kyalami this past weekend.

Quarmby then went on to win the last race of the season the following Sunday morning with his Yamaha freshly dressed in “number 1” livery, in a befitting end to his dominant season.

Your whole life has been a search for meaning, purpose and completeness.

You are aware of a sense within you that seemingly directs you as if it were a compass navigating your essence.

This navigator gives you a sense of knowing; directing you away from the trappings of mans religions and structured thinking.

It is elusive to structural thinking.

An in-between place that defies logic as humanity understands it.

Your hidden senses tell you, that what your eyes see, and your hands touch, is not all that there is.

You look around in a distant way and then you listen deeply, breathe deeply and feel deeply,

It is then that you know that there is a veil between you and some other place that holds an understanding to that which you are.

Then, without seemingly knowing, you want, and need, to become one with IT.

Most of the people stopping next to us think that we are crazy to ride alone, two ladies alone in our Country where crime are at the top of everyone’s conversation topic list. We must be crazy. Not knowing where we’ll sleep at night, not knowing where our next food will come from, where will our water come from? Its been a while since we chose to lead this lifestyle and with it came a sense of freedom as well as a sense that only good lies before us. I don’t have to force my false sense of security to now to know where I am going to sleep tonight on my day no more.

 Its been quite a journey to get here where I know that I will be where I am suppose to be tonight when sleep time come and I know that it will be where my angels will look after me and where I will feel the goodness surrounding me. All beings are inherently good, all beings are doing the best that they can at every moment in their lives with aal the knowledge that they have at those moments.

There is always something to look forward to everyday. This time its riding my bike. I love the freedom and the sense of riding with the wind on roads that takes me somewhere. The landscape is changing from long endless roads where the road disappears at the horizon to windy meandering roads going up and down hills. There is more trees and small water streams. I feel a stir of energy well up inside me, something really good is happening around me.

From underneath my nails a sharp sensation runs up along my wrists, my arm into my shoulders and neck. Its cold. Its as if the icy wind finds his way through any possible opening. Only Dante’s nose and ears are sticking out. Its in the smallest of ever moments when I realize that just by being grateful makes a huge difference. I can feel the wind blowing against my nose, freezing but I can feel it. Its difficult to take my mind away from the fact that this can be a rather shitty place to be. The thoughts of sitting inside and staring into the fire in a fireplace with something hot to drink, taking a hot bath and climbing into a hot bed. But this here, the beauty of riding with the wind, talking to the trees and seeing the cattle turning their hind sides to the wind is exillarating and I am ecstatic to be alive. So often have I wished to be somewhere else rather than here where I am. Always wanting something else than what I already am experiencing.

As the dust settles behind the Clive Morris Productions van with the 50/50 crew after our interview, things happened fast. Last minute packing, final goodbyes to families and friends and we were ready to leave on the Ripples World Cup Promo run.

A trip in South Africa to join in on the magnificent vibe of our people, to share our stories and tell people that they too can make a change in their own environment to better the state of our water resources. Also a trip to get Liani back in the swing of things fo being on the road after the accident. With the knowing that this might be a very challenging journey with it being winter and we travelling through the Freestate, Kwazulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and back via the Karoo to Johannesburg we set off with hearts filled with passion.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with your own pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
