Right here, Right NOW, can be heaven

There is always something to look forward to everyday. This time its riding my bike. I love the freedom and the sense of riding with the wind on roads that takes me somewhere. The landscape is changing from long endless roads where the road disappears at the horizon to windy meandering roads going up and down hills. There is more trees and small water streams. I feel a stir of energy well up inside me, something really good is happening around me.
The change in the water coming from Johannesburg through the Freestate was pretty radical. In Gauteng(Johannesburg) area people are frantically worried about the pollution(specifically Acid Mine Drainage) and the impacts it is having on their livelihoods. Water in abundance and yet they are mining and breaking and coining in the City of Gold. The Freestate on the other hand has more farmers. Producing food for the nation and proud of it. Although the political issues with land reforming and costs of fuel and the poor sod sitting in the pound seat in parliament are a burden to their farming spirits they tap into the latest cost effective fertilizing technology. Less money, more produce. More fertilizers and chemicals filtrating the ground water and cyphering to the nearest stream to run to the ocean. The ocean can handle and clean it for us.
In a time when exciting changes are being forced upon humankind for its survival its evident to see that although change has been the only constant through out our history we still find it hard to cope with. All change are always for the better but yet we find it hard to let go of our set ways of wanting more and wanting even more more at a lower price. Change, I love it. Bring it all on.
A world where people love themselves and strive to be more in the moment and live in harmony and balance with all beings. Realizing that we are all connected and interdependant on each other. Just like we are breathing and blood carries oxygen and other minerals and energy through our bodies so does the earth. The rivers and streams being the veins that carries the energy back to the heart, the ocean where it breaths and evaporation starts the new cycle for rain.
The moment when we quite our ego’s we find a space where we realize that we are more than just the bodies and much more than just the thoughts we think. I don’t have the simple answer but I know that we can change for something better. It was quite funny when I realized that I have been having this conversation with Dante sitting less than 30cm from my nose and he’s expressions actually talking back. We ride passed streams and seeing the lush green trees and grass covering the hills. The air feels brisk and fresh, maybe what I have been dreaming to have is right here in and around me all along.
This right here, right now... can be heaven.
